  1. The woman is looking at the grave of J. B. Hosmer (d. May 28, 1866, age 47) in the northeast corner of the Saxtons River Cemetery. The stone beside him is wife, Lorintha, who died 2 years earlier. Maybe this young woman is his second wife or a daughter. From the B.F. Times June 1 1866:
SUDDEN DEATH. Mr. J. B. Hosmer of Saxtons River, died very suddenly at near 3 o'clock on Monday morning last, of disease of the heart. He has previously had at times much difficulty in breathing, and at about two o'clock his wife was awakened and found he was having one of these spells, and a little before 3 she became alarmed and called Mr. Searles who lived in the same house, but before he could get into the room life was gone, and he only perceived one gasp. Mr. Hosmer has been in the employ of Messrs. Farnsworth & Hoit for sixteen years, and most of the time overseer of the weaving and spinning departments. He was a man highly esteemed and respected by all, a kind husband, father and neighbor, and his sudden death was a shock to the village and excited much feeling and sympathy for the bereaved family.
